Cucina Stellata Ossobuco — Round 2 & Secret Ingredient

Round 2 ossobuco in Cucina Stellata: braising flow, Secret Ingredient achievement, and how the Milan dish fits a Romagna-framed horror kitchen.

What happens in Cucina Stellata’s ossobuco round?

Round 2 is the ossobuco service. Steam awards Secret Ingredient when you cook and eat the ossobuco, with identical wording across Exophase, Trophies Hunter, and VGTimes on 2026-10-30.

Gameplay follows classic braiser beats adapted to the title’s objective system: start a soffritto, fetch and flour a shank piece from the cellar, braise with tomato and broth, write in the journal at a specific point, add parsley, plate, and eat. Third-party Round 2 summaries match that order (celery, carrot and onion, cleaver meat, broth before journaling, parsley after).

See the walkthrough Round 2 section for decision points and the achievements list for trophy rates. The previous course is cappelletti in brodo; the next is offal crostini (walkthrough Round 3).

In-game steps

How does the Round 2 kitchen flow go?

Group the objectives like a real kitchen pass:

  1. Reset from Round 1. Clear the table bowl into the wash basin when prompted.
  2. Soffritto. Butter; chop celery, carrot and onion; return the board.
  3. Shank prep. Cellar cleaver work, close the kitchen door, flour the meat on the board.
  4. Braise. Sear in the pan, add tomato sauce and broth from the pot, then journal.
  5. Finish. Chop wall parsley, add it to the pan, serve, return the pan, eat.

The real dish

What is the real dish?

Ossobuco (Italian for “bone with a hole”) is a Lombard specialty. Ossobuco alla milanese is cross-cut veal shank braised with vegetables, wine and broth, prized for the marrow in the bone. That summary matches the Wikipedia entry for ossobuco (2026-10-30 snapshot).

The game still labels the course ossobuco and scripts a tomato and broth braise with parsley. That is closer to a home-cook stew than a documentary Milan recipe, but it clearly invokes the famous name.

Cellar visits are prime time to grab key halves for the later dresser drawers (key locations). Round 2 does not require keys to serve ossobuco, but a 100% run overlaps cooking with collection.

Why does a Lombard dish appear in a Romagna-framed game?

Filthy Eden publicly ties the project to Romagna (Supporter Pack blurb and Steam community posts), while the Steam store pitches 19th-century Italian recipes more broadly.

We found no developer statement explaining the Lombard dish title inside a Romagna-forward marketing frame. Treat it as creative license unless future official copy says otherwise, not as a historically accurate Romagna menu.

Real-world recipes, including vegetarian alternates, live in the paid Supporter Pack. This page does not reproduce DLC instructions.

FAQ

Which achievement is ossobuco in Cucina Stellata?
Secret Ingredient unlocks when you cook and eat the ossobuco according to Steam achievement text mirrored on Exophase and other trackers.
Why does ossobuco appear in a Romagna-themed game?
Real ossobuco is associated with Milan and Lombardy. Developers highlight Romagna in Supporter Pack copy and community posts, but we found no official sentence explaining why Round 2 uses a Lombard dish name.
What is the Round 2 journal order?
Walkthrough notes say to add broth before writing in the journal, then chop parsley afterward. Reversing that order is a common progress stop.
Do I need the Supporter Pack to cook ossobuco in-game?
No. The DLC adds real-world recipes and illustrated extras; the base game includes the Round 2 cooking sequence for free.
